It is with huge sadness that we must share with you the passing of Film Industry Agent, Ann Koska, who died on Saturday 5th March, aged 84.
Ann ran The Ann Koska Agency which she based at Pinewood Film Studios for 15 years, gaining industry renown for providing child actors and supporting artists to the film industry.
Ann adored our school and how we train our pupils and she was our greatest cheer leader. She never missed a SOTA Show, which she relished and she would often arrive at SOTA at the weekends, unannounced, on her day off, just to enjoy watching the pupils rehearsing.
Ann had an eye for spotting talent and would do whatever she could to reward hard work and discipline with professional opportunities.
Ann represented SOTA pupils throughout her time running the Agency and she would always seek to offer our pupils work. Several years running she had SOTA pupils working on every single major movie filming in the UK that year.
Ann’s services to the Film, Theatre and Television industries are exceptional. Harry Potter to Star Wars, Les Miserables to the Kings Speech she worked on them all and she ran her Agency tirelessly until she was an incredible 82 years of age, when she retired. The Ann Koska Agency continues on, carrying her name and her formidable reputation for professionalism throughout the industry.
We shall miss Ann’s no messing attitude, her ability to demand professionalism from even the youngest performer and her unerring ability to garner both respect and admiration from the youngest of child actors through to the most experienced and famous of the world’s Film Directors.
We shall be dedicating our show in June ‘Fairytales, Fame & Fantasy’ to Ann’s memory.
Heavy are our hearts, deep is our gratitude, golden are our memories.
