LAMDA Acting Classes @ SOTA Reading

The LAMDA Solo Acting Exams give young actors the opportunity to investigate text, staging and characterisation across a broad spectrum of material from different periods by different writers.

At SOTA, we teach LAMDA in small groups of 6 with an experienced acting coach leading the sessions. This ensures our pupils receive the one to one attention necessary to achieve high grades and to develop fully in the skills of acting.

Each pupil will be given two speeches (three in the higher grades) and will be helped to develop the scenes to performance standard. An external LAMDA Examiner comes to the school and assesses the students giving them a grade which leads to a nationally recognised qualification, gaining each pupil valuable UCAS points which go towards their University or Drama School application.

We have a 100% pass rate and 98% gain a Merit or Distinction grade. In 2009 our Lamda pupils performed on the Bearwood Theatre stage in our school show West End to Hollywood.
